Sambo Dasuki The leadership of the PDP has accused the Buhari-led administration of persecuting Sambo Dasuki due to personal issues and ambition.   The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says President Muhammadu is persecuting Sambo Dasuki, former national security adviser (NSA), out of suspicion that he is nursing a 2019 presidential ambition, accoring to The Cable. The party said Dasuki, who is undergoing trial for alleged fraud, has vast political and security network, hence the president’s bid to stop his ‘suspected’ ambition.

Muhammadu Buhari Buhari has revealed why his administration seems slow in bringing the impact of change his party promised Nigerians during the general elections.  President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday responded to criticisms on the pace of his administration, saying he adopted the ‘slow’ style deliberately so that he would not make mistakes, according to the Punch. According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, the President gave the explanation while receiving a delegation of Women in Politics Forum at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.   While defending the records of the administration in response to criticism that it is slow, Buhari was quoted as arguing that steps must be taken with caution to avoid mistakes. He said any mistake by his administration would be a disaster for the country.

The Presidency has dismissed insinuations and rumors that the Buhari administration has banned Hijab, the Muslim women’s dressing symbol of modesty. Giving a clarification on the issue, Garba Shehu, the President's Assistant on Media and Publicity, said the speculations are unfounded, and that the Buhari administration would always respect the rights of Muslims and others to protect their modesty and allow religious freedom as it affects everyone. An official statement said: “Everything will be done to balance national security requirements with the rights and obligations of citizens under their religions as protected by the constitution.”

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons has said they have started investigations into Davido’s Abduction case. While speaking with a Punch Correspondent who had called in to know how far the agency had gone, the Lagos State Zonal Commander of the agency, Mr. Joseph Famakin, said investigations into the matter had commenced and both parties have been invited. IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu Nnamdi Kanu's lawyer has clarified the air why the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra and founder of Radio Biafra had to apologize to Buhari and others.  Nnamdi Kanu's lawyer, Mr. Vincent Obetta, has given reason why his client apologized to Buhari and others even as he said the Indigenous People of Biafra leader never wrote a letter of apology to Buhari and others.   In a statement on Thursday, Obetta explained that what he denied on behalf of his client was speculation that Kanu had written letters of apology to Buhari, Jonathan and Igbo elders.   Although he confirmed that Kanu tendered the apology in his statement to the Department of State Service because his comments were uncomplimentary considering the culture and values of the African society. The statement by Nnamdi Kanu was tendered way back on the 23rd of October, 2015 after his arrest which was widely reported by the media unlike some insinuations...

A high ranking army officer has been arrested in connection with the $2.1 billion arms deal scam involving a former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.   The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC,  Monday night, arrested a serving colonel in the Nigerian Army over his alleged involvement in the sharing of money from the office of the National Security Adviser under Colonel Sambo Dasuki, Vanguard reports.

A huge, multi-story fire broke out in a 63-story hotel in downtown Dubai late Thursday, near where thousands of people had gathered to watch a New Year’s Eve fireworks display. The Government of Dubai Media Office reported 14 minor injuries, one moderate injury and a heart attack due to overcrowding and smoke at the site. The office tweeted that all of the injured got prompt medical assistance. Around 11 p.m. local time, it said firefighters expected to have the fire 90% contained within half an hour. The Address Downtown Dubai is a five-star hotel in the heart of the city, located in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It has 196 rooms, 626 residences and eight restaurants and bars. It is next door to Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower at 2,722 feet. It is part of a mixed-use, large-scale development called Downtown Dubai. The hotel is also flanked by the Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping and entertainment center. Reason for fire is yet to be ascertain...
